Combined heat and power (CHP) – sometimes referred to as cogeneration – is an efficient and clean approach to generating on-site electric power and useful thermal energy from a single fuel source. Technical assistance will be provided, along with resources to end-users, through DOE’s CHP Deployment Program, Low Carbon Alternatives Assistance, Technology Validation, and On-Site Generation Initiative.
